Dual-Core Performance on COM Express
With the arrival of dual-core Intel® processors embedded systems designers now have the necessary computing horsepower available at attractive price points to address performance hungry applications, such as imaging, gaming and test & measurement systems. The Intel® Core™ Duo processor architecture not only provides two processing cores, but is also carefully architected to take optimal advantage of the two cores. A key requirement to maximizing performance on multiple cores is dual channel memory.
Dual channel memory is a standard feature on many boards, but not always feasible to place on a small modular form factor such as COM Express modules.
